Little Moments

Family Photo Shoot

we did a little valentines photo shoot with a friend of ours, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. It was just fun. She did an amazing job, and if you live in this area, I HIGHLY recommend hiring her for any photography needs. She rocks. For real. Check out her website at:

Hey, Love

On this man-made holiday, I can’t help but feel the same way I do each and every day – loved and blessed beyond measure. I am married to the most incredible man on earth, who loves me beyond measure. I love him yesterday, today and forever – You will always be my valentine, boy! When today is over, I know that loving feeling won’t go away – it’s always there, burning and keeping me going, keeping me strong. Love and marriage take work, they take dedication, they take endurance. Up against anything, I’ll choose you every time!

Just Dance

I can’t believe it’s that time of year again; time for another dance recital. The summer has flown by. The year has flown by. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that Olive was taking her first dance class, last summer, and we were preparing for her first recital. Such a nostalgic time. I remember when I was dancing for Crossmovement, and how blessed I felt by it. Now I get to watch my little girl dance in an event that I devoted many years of my life to, and be blessed by her tiny movements (and silly faces). As we enter into the recital tonight, I am so excited; not only to watch my baby dance, but to see all the other girls and boys worship through a medium that has always been so dear to my heart – my form of worship.

*that’s her little butt*

I love pastries. Sweets. Cake-like things in any form. After seeing a friend of mine post several delicious photos of a local bakery, I finally stopped by to pay a little visit for myself. Hallelujah. Olive and I grabbed a few cinnamon roll/sticky buns for us and our friends to go, while on our little walk downtown. They were delicious. So delicious. What I’m most looking forward to though, is a visit during the afternoon/evening to try some of their cupcakes I keep seeing. Oh man. It’s little moments like finding a local business that you can support and enjoy that I love in life. So Camino Bakery, thank you for being amazing, and I look forward to seeing you again very very soon!

^a very happy mama^

Date night

Tonight is date night! So thankful that my aunt and uncle offered to keep Olive so I can go on a date with this hot man. We still haven’t decided if we’re doing dinner at this amazing brewery or if we’ll do sushi. But, we do know that we are going to see This Is the End because, well, it looks hilarious. We love a good comedy. A relaxing night with my husband, taking in a good comedy – I CAN’T WAIT!

what’s your favorite date night activity?

Tiny Dancer

If there’s one thing in life that I know, it’s that our little lady loves to dance. She doesn’t really walk through life, but pretty much dances her way through each day, music or no music. If there’s music playing you better believe she is going to show you a move or two. If it’s silent, she is making up her own songs and dancing to them. She sometimes sets up this little mirror she has against the wall and “practices” her ballet. “First position,” I hear her saying to herself. “1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3.” It really is the most precious thing to witness.

Growing up, I was a dancer and it held such a special place in my heart. If you’ve ever taken a dance class, you know that special feeling I’m talking about – there’s nothing like it. I still dance around my kitchen at random moments. An arabesque here, a releve there. Jetes, pirouettes and plies. They’ll remain with me forever, because let’s face it, when you do something for so long it just never leaves you. It’s also a nice reminder to myself that although I am approaching 26 and haven’t danced a ballet class in many years, I still maintain that flexibility. So to watch my daughter already developing that same love for dance warms my heart, and unless she someday decides that she doesn’t want to dance anymore, I look forward to many dance recitals, costumes and lots of crying from this mama.
